Today might feel a bit different. I finished writing 8 hours worth of exams at 12:30AM and couldnāt see straight. Luckily, one of my best pals is also a fantastic writer - Eddie - and he gets full credit for this edition. As youāll probably learn, heās an angry Cowboys fan:
Good morning and welcome back. Another week in the books and hopefully Week 14 was kinder to you than it was to me - your playoff hopes are still alive.
Week 14 Team of the Week
QB: Aaron Rodgers - Rodgers continues his hot streak pushing Mahomeboy for MVP. Granted it was against the Lions but hey throwing for 3 TDās (and rushing for another), totaling for 30+ fantasy points is impressive against any team (except the Jets).
RB: Derrick Henry - After an unusual dud last week, Henry more than redeemed himself for fantasy owners counting on him when it truly mattersā playoff time. He made the most of his favourable matchup against the Jaguars, who proved why they are a bottom 3 team against the run, allowing Henry to total 35+ fantasy points.
WR: Tyreek Hill - Only took 3 receptions for him to score 24+ fantasy points as he caught his usual weekly deep ball TD but also took his only carry of the game to the house for 32 yards. Heās shed his former boom-or-bust reputation this year scoring under double digit points only once and scoring over 20 points in 4 of his last 5 games. Guy is the real deal.
TE: Travis Kelce - After how dog-sh*t KC played in the first half of this game, itās incredible that we have two Chiefs on the team of the week. But Kelce for the 4th straight game finished with 8 receptions and weirdly enough posted the exact same stat line as last week with 136 yards + a TD for 23.6 fantasy points. Nobodyās able to keep up with Kelce this year.
D/ST: Washington Football Team Without a Name - I canāt believe so many teams are letting a team without a name rag doll their QBās every week. Washingtonās front 7 are legit tho. They scored more TDās than their offense (who got zero) and registered 4 sacks for the 3rd time in 4 games. Maybe all they needed was a name change to turn the franchise around? Chase Young didnāt hurt.
K: LOL JK Ban Kickers (Dan Bailey is proof)
Josh Allen got the JuJu in Buffalo
On a positive note, the Steelers once again proved how fraudulent they are despite JuJu treating the Bills logo as his own personal dance floor. It was nice seeing Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and company humble him for that.
Carson Wince Time Over in Philly?
Although the Eagles upsetting the Saints cost me a lot of money, I was happy to see Hurts excel in the same offense that made Wentz look like a deer in headlights for most of the year. If Hurts can somehow string a couple more wins together to end the season and look competent doing so, Philly will have some big decisions to make next year.
also - I really hope you didnāt sit Miles Sanders. We here at the morning huddle advocate #StartYourStuds. Always.
This Probably Wonāt Happen Again Ever
At least hopefully not.
Name a better WR?
I feel like I played this guy this week in every single league Iām inā¦
Looking Ahead
Christian McCaffrey is still questionable with a shoulder injury. If heās playing you obviously start him - but if not, weāre in for another Mike Davis week (whoās been ballin in CMCās absence)
Austin Ekeler is questionable for Thursday nightās game with a quad injury. With the Chargerās being on a short week, keep an eye on this in the upcoming days. Hopefully you donāt have to play Kalen Ballege because he truly sucks.
BONUS
Another Week, Another AJ Brown highlight catch
Question of the Day: Did anyone cost you the week in the fantasy? Did anyone win you the week? I started Giovani Bernard in two leagues thinking he could do something against the Cowboys CFL calibre defense, but the Bengals will Bengal. Ā
