Good morning and welcome back. Week 13 is (almost) in the books - it was a weird one.
Weird seeing Tyreek Hill catch 2 TDs and none counted. Weird seeing Antonio Gibson not continue to dominate. Weird seeing Baker Mayfield play well. Still weird seeing Alex Smith playing football again.
But not weird seeing the Steelers lose. It felt right.
Let’s get into it:
Week 13 Team of the Week*
QB: Derek Carr - His first week gracing the top spot, Carr takes home top honours after posting 31+ fantasy points against the Jets - a week after barely scoring a single point. That’s fantasy for ya.
RB: David Montgomery - Now this really feels weird. Barring Zeke or J.K. Dobbins (or Lamar Jackson lol get it?!) exploding on Tuesday, the RB1 for Week 13 is David f*******ing Montgomery, with 25+ points. sick.
WR: Corey Davis - Continuing the weird week theme, Corey Davis went nuclear. He posted 11 catches for 182 yards and a TD. Partly helped by AJ Brown missing time mid-game, Davis has actually be very good this year. He’s currently top 5 in yards per route run…
TE: Darren Waller - Maybe the only non-shock, Waller had the 5th best game of any TE in history. He was that #great. 17 targets, 13 catches, 200 yards and 2 TDs became 38+ points. The #2 TE this season has great rapport with Carr and should continue to ball out. (my boy and former deep dive Dan Arnold put up 19+!)
D/ST: Patriots - Jeez. 45-0 shellacking of the LA Chargers really put Herbert in his place. Bill Belichick does not lose to Rookie QBs. Do not forget that.
*as of Monday night.
But how much better is Bill Belichick than Andy Reid?
The best rap album you’ve never heard
Sportsmen of the Year
Sports Illustrated released their list of Sportsmen (and women) for the year. The NFL (and cover story) featured two Chiefs.
Mahomes we know. But who is Laurent Tardiff?
For those who don’t know, Tardiff was the Chiefs starting RG for their super bowl run - he stepped away from his football career this season to utilize his doctorate in medicine to help fight the COVID pandemic. Hero.

Looking Ahead
Devontae Booker could be in for another week of disappointment as Josh Jacobs is expected to miss Week 14 as well.
Antonio Gibson may have turf toe and could be out for Week 14.

BONUS
Maybe I shouldn’t be so tough on David Njoku, he’s a great guy (but not for fantasy):
Thank you all - we’ll be back tomorrow with some deep dives and fantasy playoff specials. Stay tuned!
Question of the Day: Did anything sad happen to your fantasy team this weekend? I started Justin Herbert over Taysom Hill. And dropped Logan Thomas for Kyle Rudolph. Make me feel better.
Had Baker starting in my superflex, dropped him and picked up Trubisky instead.
Had Tua in the starting lineup Sunday morning. Dropped him. Added Baker. Dropped Baker. Added Mike Glennon and Laviska Shenault lololol.
yes, going to win and team tied with for final playoff spot is losing. Was a great week!
