Brandin Cooks hype, expected points, Nick Chubb in high school, and Deshaun Watson update
Good morning to everyone except Mike Brown, the Bengals owner who inherited the team from his dad and hasnāt won a playoff game since. Nothing personal, but, as a Bengals fan, I hope you have a terrible day Mike.
Yesterday was FILLED with great content, so letās dive into it:
Tweet of Day #1
This is an Antonio Brown & Brandin Cooks Tweet
Sure, the TEās have been unreal (and should be acquired in every league)*, but look at those WRs!!
*Iām serious. The impact Kelce/Waller will have this season canāt be understated. Pay up for one of them - Waller is the ideal target, as heās still cheaper (somehow).
Anyways:
Brandin Cooks, Antonio Brown, and Marvin Jones are clearly the outlines. Everyone else is a first/second-round pick, yet you could probably trade Damien Harris/Kenny Golladay/Chase Edmonds for any one of those WRs. And you should.
Brandin Cooks rolls into every season on a new team, collects 1000 receiving yards, is only 27 years old, yet nobody wants him in fantasy.
You can literally get him for peanuts. Cooks checked every box in Week 1.
Tweet of Day #2
Such a valuable graph - Expected Points
@SamHoppen put together this valuable list of expected fantasy points for every relevant player on every single team. Damn. Talk about a lot of work.
The key takeaways?
Tweet of Day #3
Nick Chubb is in high school here. Like 18-years old max high school.
This was me in high school
Quick Hits
Dalvin Cook was seen without a mask & wristband in a locker room video posted by Kris Boyd, which means he is now most likely vaccinated (as the NFL forbids this conduct without vaccination)
Brandon Aiyuk should be ok. āIn-house with the 49ers, itās not like heās in the dog house or anything,ā 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel said of Aiyuk. McDaniel says the 49ers tried to progressively take their time with his return from hammy and now Aiyuk is fully back.
While he didnāt run the ball as well as Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley looked great last night. The Giants now have over a week of rest, so expect him to be a full-go in Week 3. This is the last time you even consider benching him.
Zac Wilson gets even less help. OT Mekhi Becton is scheduled to undergo knee surgery next Wednesday and is expected to miss 4-8 weeks, per source.
It's reportedly looking more unlikely that the Deshaun Watson criminal probe will be resolved before the 2021 trade deadline. This makes it less likely Watson is traded, and even less likely that he takes the field. You can safely drop him in non-dynasty formats.
Tweet of Day #4
Jared Goff v Matthew Stafford on play-action. Yikes.
Question of the Day
Should you handcuff your OWN RB, or someone elseās RB? An amazing Reddit back-and-forth occurred yesterday. Click for link:
Whatās it gunna be?
