Hellllllo there. Seems like such a long week - but fear not, we have NFL football tonight. Both teams will be very diminished and weakened (read below), but both could still beat the Jets by double digits.
Now, presented by a disappointed George Kittle owner, the Morning Huddle:
In Thursday Night Football fashion, the Packers v. 49ers should be disappointing
It will be difficult for casual fans to identify any offensive weapons in the entire game, other than Aaron Rodgers and Devante Adams. Almost every relevant skill player on the 49ers is either injured (Jimmy G, George Kittle, etc.) or will be held out due to Covid-19 (Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, etc.). JaMychal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon could be relevant, because yea, the NFL is not rescheduling the game.
In good news, Allen Lazard was on the Packers flight and might be suiting up: he balled-out when last healthy.
Great info helps you win championships
So here are a few:
Scott Barrett helps you make trade decisions, as he highlights the toughest/easiest schedules to date - now you know who’s been balling despite their matchups, and who has been because their matchups.
Industry legend Evan Silva goes head-to-head with someone to talk all things fantasy football: live at 8:30pmET/5:30pmPT here.
Some important QB stats for you to interpret:
Most passing attempts to RBs this season? 1. Drew Brees (78) 2. Tom Brady (70) 3. Aaron Rodgers (61). It’s no surprise all their RBs have been playing well.
Most completions when targeting single coverage? 1. Joe Burrow (70) 2. Tom Brady (68). Brady really isn’t washed, and adds Antonio Brown to his arsenal this week. Start him with confidence.
It’s Derrick Henry and Chase Edmonds TIME
As for Chase Edmonds, he’s statistically a better value to the Cardinals and will be much better for fantasy. Just read this stat: Chase Edmonds has as many 20-yard runs (three) as Kenyan Drake, despite handling *90* fewer carries. Edmonds is the RB start of the week and should be started with confidence as a top 10 back.
D.K. Metcalf Tribute
Nothing major happened, he’s fine, don’t worry. But I’ve been seeing his highlights more and more lately, so I compiled a small dose of the all-world WR - info/video you should know. WARNING: these will make you overpay for him in every league you’re in.
Metcalf absolutely demolishing a safety who D.K. accidentally runs into.
D.K. Metcalf destroys single coverage.
Metcalf is too fast for the 49ers.
Two Big-Name players return this week
Christian McCaffrey was a full participant in practice and is expected to play in Week 9 against the Cheifs. One of the best-backs in the NFL is ready to roll, and should be started everywhere, but don’t drop Mike Davis yet.
Antonio Brown is back in an NFL uniform and is expected to see ??? snaps in Week 9. Bruce Arians on Antonio Brown Sunday: "He'll have his role. It could be 10 plays; it could be 35 plays. I wouldn't anticipate 60 plays, for sure, but we'll just see how it goes." There are safer starting options, but AB was wearing a TB12 hat, so expect magic.
BONUS:
Happy Birthday to the best NFL returner in history: Devin Hester. The Crank Dat dance before a Super Bowl return TD was legendary. This was was an absolute stud:
Thanks for reading - now go and trade your first-born for Baby-Bron, D.K. Metcalf.
Question of the day: Who is your favourite special teams player of all-time?
Also favorite special teams player- Josh Cribbs
Me opening this this morning with Derrick Henry and Chase Edmonds both starting for me :D
