🏈 Josh Gordon, we're thankful too
Things are looking bad for D'Andre Swift & an important message - Dec 4
Aaaaaaaand we’re back. Good morning. Happy Friday. Another week closer to 2021. I keep writing Nov in the date section. But it’s Dec.
Boy time flies when you’re… a) streaming netflix b) winning fantasy football matchups c) stuck at home doing nothing every day, day after day d) having fun
I forgot to mention
Yesterday we discussed deep-dives, but forgot to include one player (though he doesn’t qualify).
George Kittle should not be available in any leagues. If you can afford the roster spot (or have IR) - grab him. He’ll be a league-winner if he returns as early as he says (by week 15).
The greatest news since the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich
Josh Gordon has been reinstated by the NFL. The guy who had 1,646 YDS in 14 games with Weeden, Hoyer and Jason Campbell at QB. Stupid good.
Back from his fifth NFL suspension after smoking some dope, Gordon won't be eligible to practice with the team until December 21. That puts him on track to play in the Seahawks' Week 15 game against Washington.
Barring any injuries to the Seahawks receiving core, we can’t expect much from Gordon. But defenses are in trouble.
Not bad news, but not good news either
A few players remained limited at practice Thursday, some didn’t suit up at all (hopefully as precautions). Here’s the tea:
A.J. Brown (hip) missed practise Thursday. The hip injury is new for Brown and another missed practice would put his status Sunday in jeopardy. Could be Corey Davis week.
Daniel Jones (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday. If I was a betting man - and I am - Jones isn’t playing. Colt McCoy will be under center for the Giants. Start the Seahawks D/ST.
Deebo Samuel (hamstring) was held out of Thursday's practice as a "precautionary measure" and is expected to play - but check today.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh wouldn't say whether Lamar Jackson (COVID-19) will be available for Week 13 against Dallas. Tracey McSorley would start in Lamar’s absence as RG3 remains injured.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) was held out of Thursday's practice; but it’s not Covid related.
Good news
Dalvin “League-Winner” Cook looks to be on track to face the Jaguars this week after coming out of Week 12 banged up.
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said Myles Garrett (COVID) will play in Week 13 against the Titans. Big boost for the Browns D/ST.
Straight up bad news
Adrian Peterson said D'Andre Swift hasn't had "the same energy level" since suffering a concussion. Peterson told reporters "it's been hard to watch" Swift struggle with the effects of his brain injury, which he suffered in Week 10. Almost three weeks ago.
However: Per @TimTwentyman, D’Andre Swift is no longer in concussion protocol following confirmation from an Independent Neurological Consultant.
Also, Josh Jacobs was held out of Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury. Apparently his ankle "looked worse than it is," but RapSheet suggested there is a chance that Jacobs plays against the Jets in Week 13. Grab Devontae Booker, just in-case.
Hayden Hurst shares an important message
This is worth watching. I’m not trying to be a hero, but everyone is going through battles we know nothing about. All we can do is be kind to one another.
BONUS
I know you’re probably reading this on the toilet - so let’s make your roommate/girlfriend/cat concerned over why you’re laughing
The Colts play.
