Give me whatever Will Fuller was taking
Win a trip to visit Bill Belichick & why you need Denzel Mims - Dec 3
Good morning. It’s Thursday, the typical day after Wednesday-Afternoon-Football. Strange… but all good.
Deep Dives: Next week’s top waiver adds
Three players available in almost every league who are worth picking up. The idea is you grab a player before everyone wants to grab them off the waiver wire. Last week, the perfect pickups were probably Devontae Booker and Logan Thomas. This week (ownership in brackets):
WR: Isaiah Coulter (0% owned) - Kenny Stills is gone, Will Fuller is suspended and Randall Cobb (toe) must miss at least two more games on injured reserve. While everyone rushes to pick up Keke “do you love me” Coutee - you pivot and grab Coulter (after waivers clear). Here’s why: Coulter is 6-foot-2 with 4.45 wheels and had a strong training camp. Coulter is signed through 2023 & Fuller is a UFA after this season. These 5 games allow the Texans to see what they have in Coulter. If he takes the Fuller role, we are talking about top 20 upside. Here’s how he compares to Fuller:
WR: Denzel Mims (4% owned) - As gross as it is to grab a JET, here’s why I’m grabbing Mims in most leagues: He led the entire NFL in air yards in Week 11, is 4th in the NFL in target share over the past month, and I saw this tweet:
Rookie WRs currently above the 2.00 Y/RR mark that heavily correlates to fantasy success: 1. Justin Jefferson (2.91) 2. Chase Claypool (2.16) 3. Denzel Mims (2.01) 👀 End of list. Thanks FFBaldMan! Larry David would be proud. If you need more convincing on Denzel Mims, read this thread. Blowup game incoming!
RB: Cam Aker… LOL If Cam Akers is available in your league why haven’t you won the league yet?
Thanks Jim Schwartz
DK Metcalf says Eagles DC Jim Schwartz came up to him and said, "I was in Detroit with Megatron, you're not there yet." It put a chip on DK's shoulder.
Jim? What is the logic here?
“Playoffs?”
Am I the only one who can never say it without using the former Colts coach’s voice? You know what I’m talking about right?
Protect the QB - Hit the QB - Idk!!
Total QB Hits Allowed Through Week 12 (these QB’s are so safe):
(1) GB: 30 (2) ARI: 33 (3) LV: 37
These QB’s aren’t safe (holy sh*t - maybe it’s not all Carson Wentz?):
(30) SEA: 89 (31) CIN: 94 (32) PHI: 111
Total QB Hits Produced Through Week 12 (these teams get after the QB!!):
(1) PIT: 104 (2) BAL: 88 (3) PHI: 86
These teams do not:
(30) JAX: 46 (31 & 32) DET, NE: 45
What’s the point of knowing this? Why don’t you ask whoever is first place in your fantasy league.
Oh, they don’t know either?
Keep an eye out, folks
This late in the season, players are so banged-up we don’t even realize it. These are players worth watching before Week 13 kicks off:
D.J. Chark (ribs) was limited in practice on Wednesday. Chark missed Week 12 but is on track for a return against the Vikings after practicing early in the week.
Texans designated RB David Johnson (concussion) to return from injured reserve. He has a good chance of playing and will be a welcome addition after the Randy (Duke) Johnson experiment.
Phillip Lindsay (knee) did not practice Wednesday. This would make Melvin Gordon a no-doubt starter with heavy volume.
D'Andre Swift (concussion) will practice Wednesday but remains in the concussion protocol. He'll need to be cleared by Saturday to return this week (likely)
DJ Moore should be ok! Apparently, he has a run of the mill ankle sprain and should be good for Week 14 - when we will all be in the fantasy playoffs.
BONUS
PFF tells us it’s time to SELL HIGH on Will Fuller. Nice.
Players raise money for a good cause while we collect fantasy points - a match made in heaven.
Robbie Gould - behind the scenes. Meet the man behind “Good as Gould” in raw and uncut audio recording the NFL has edited and cut.
For those who’s season is over - the season is never over:
Thank you - have a great day. And remember, somewhere deep in the forests of Michigan, Matt Patricia is writing a resume and cover letter. Or filing for unemployment.
Life is fair.
Question of the day: Caption this (best caption wins $69,000,000 and a trip for 15 to have dinner with Bill and his wife Debby):
Damn these deep dives have come a long way! I've got my eyes on all three now 👀
