Good morning everyone - I hope fantasy football (specifically the Morning Huddle) offers you some escape from the rest of the world.
Regardless of who wins what, we are sticking to our guns (and the reason you subscribe): football baby!
Myles Gaskin goes down with a sprained MCL
The Dolphins surprisingly effective RB is expected to miss the next few weeks and will likely be placed on IR. This opens the door for Matt Breida and Jordan Howard (who had been a healthy scratch) for 8-12 carries a game, while Patrick Laird and DeAndre Washington could also mix in. If it’s not obvious, this backfield isn’t one to invest in while Gaskin is out.
The Cowboys have to pay Dak now, right? Right?!
The Dallas Cowboys have been a sh**show since their All-Pro QB Dakota Prescott went down. Even scoring the “best backup QB in the league” this off-season isn’t saving them, as Andy Dalton has been plagued with injuries, ineffectiveness, and now Covid-19. It doesn’t help that the ‘Boys All-NFL o-line is significantly diminished.
Regardless, the “QB Battle to Watch” is now Garret Gilbert vs. Cooper Rush fighting for the chance to put up 5.5 fantasy points.
Well That Was Disappointing: Trade Deadline Edition
The biggest trade with fantasy football implications might be the Patriots acquiring WR Isaiah Ford from the Dolphins. The slot WR is a welcome addition for the Pats team missing top target Julian Edelman and any capable other pass-catching WRs. The deal also opens up more opportunities for Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki, who runs most out his routes in the slot.
Will Fuller was not traded to the Packers. Ryan Fitzmagic was not traded to the Cowboys. What a letdown.

The 49ers hospital update
George Kittle was expected to miss 8-weeks, he says it’s only going to be two. Hold tight. He’s going on IR and could be back in as soon as 3 weeks.
Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t as tough as George, but is hoping to return in 4-6 weeks after deciding against surgery. Could Jimmy G’s time in SF be up?
They also finally waived Dante Pettis. Does that mean I should drop him from my dynasty team? Or should I wait until he’s signed by the Packers and becomes the next Randall Cobb? I’m holding.

So you didn’t get the player you were hoping for when waivers went through. That sucks. How do you move forward? Here are two low-key adds who could pay big dividends. Last week, we highlighted some studs (DeeJay Dallas) and some duds (Ben The Nooch DiNucci).
RB: Tyler Ervin and/or Dexter Williams - the Packers backups to Aaron Jones’ backups backup (nice). These guys might do nothing, they might also score a TD and get 10-15 touches in their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
D/ST: Dolphins - maybe you don’t start them against the Cardinals this week, but look at their upcoming schedule… And they’ve been really strong lately - not allowing more than 17 points in any of their last three games.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you. Take care. Share.
Question of the day: What would you do to impact football if YOU were president?
