Good morning to everyone except the guy who drafted Kyle Pitts and T.J. Hockenson before I got my first TE. Hope you regret what you’ve done.
It was a relatively busy weekend, so let’s jump right in:
The Infirmary
Deebo Samuel played (and looked fine) in the 49ers' second preseason game against the Chargers, good news because he left practice earlier this week after suffering a glute injury requiring an MRI.
Jalen Hurts stomach illness was more serious than we thought. He was taken to the hospital after feeling pain prior to the Eagles' second preseason game against the Patriots. Luckily, Hurts returned to practice on Sunday. He’s the ideal late-round, high-upside QB pick.
Carson Wentz returns to practice today, as will linemen Quenton Nelson and Ryan Kelly. Jonathan Taylor’s buy-low window just slammed shut.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not concerned about Dak Prescott's (shoulder) Week 1 status.
It’s still possible Saquon Barkley suits up Week 1 - he’s expected to get reps in a joint practice this week for the first time this offseason. Given the size of Saquon’s quads and his massive workload, he’s falling way too far down draft boards.
Ban Kickers
My home league decided to remove kickers from our league two years ago. That means we don’t have to watch kickers miss FGs and extra points. We don’t draft them. We don’t even talk about them.
Since banning kickers:
My hair loss stopped
I gained 5 pounds of muscle and got a hot girlfriend
My stock and crypto portfolio almost doubled
I’ve started to appreciate nature more
I am happier, healthier, and stress-free
Coincidence?
What are YOU waiting for? Go tell your league that it’s time to ban kickers.
NFL’s Top 100 Players
The NFL’s annual list of the 100 best players (as voted by players) is now out. We know the top 10 players, but we don’t know the order. My guess is Aaron Rodgers is #1 - coming off an MVP season where he carried the Packers to the AFC Championship for the second straight year.

The Top 100 is an awesome Youtube series every NFL fan should watch. You can follow this link to check it out. Here’s Tyreek Hill:

DeShaun Watson Update
Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson reports the criminal case against Deshaun Watson "may ensure he’s eligible to play the entire 2021 season."
Watson, who isn’t on the Commissioner's Exempt List, would need to be interviewed before the league can suspend him under its personal conduct policy. That can’t happen as long as Watson's criminal case is under investigation, as the NFL can't interfere with legal proceedings. This loophole allows Watson to at least practice and join team meetings this season.
The 12th overall pick in 2017 (after Mitch Trubisky), Watson is currently being drafted around 150th overall (QB20). At that price, he’s worth grabbing as a late-round flier to pair with another late-round QB. Since his rookie season, Watson’s never finished lower than QB5.

Quick Hits
It looks like Teddy Bridgewater is winning the Broncos QB competition, which is great news for Jerry Jeudy. He’s a must-draft at his current ADP (WR32).
How the Steelers offense will look different this season to adapt to Najee Harris (who may be the best value in FF drafts right now).
Why rookie TE Kyle Pitts, the highest-drafted TE ever, could dethrone Mike Ditka in the NFL record books.
Is Justin Jefferson too cheap in drafts? Will he be the WR1 in 2021-2022? This stat sure implies that. JJ holds some ELITE company.
That’s all for today folks - I know it’s Monday, but make the best of it!
Some people would kill to be in your shoes and spend their mornings reading the Morning Huddle while on the toilet.
See you bright & early tomorrow.
