Ladies and gentlemen (but mainly degenerates), welcome to the Week 10 edition of the Morning Huddle, where we break down the top stories around the NFL every single morning* (*Tues-Sun).
First - I have just returned from a weekend bender and really missed the chance to sit down and write some in-depth reviews, with the best content available. So this better deliver.
Second - I’m really appreciative of all the kind msgs and suggestions provided by you, thank you.
Third - Jamison Crowder had the catch of the night yesterday evening.
Now let’s get into it!
Week 9 Team of the Week
QB: Kyler Murray (The overall QB1 on the season continues to live-up-to-the-hype. Despite losing to the Dolphins (who we suggested you pick up last week), Kyler balled out to the tune of 37+ fantasy points. If you drafted Kyler in any league, congrats, you aren’t me.)
RB: Dalvin Cook (Cook is on the TOTW for the second week in a row. Safe to say he’s COOKING*. The injury/bye week rest did him some good. 38+ points.)
WR: Richie James (Who? ahahaha the first week we don’t feature a Seahawk WR, no-name 49ers WR Richie James absolutely snaps, putting up 28+ points en route to the WR1 finish on the week. Probably won’t pull another stunt like this, but with the 49ers receiving core in shambles, he’s worth an add)
TE: Travis Kelce (The no-double TE1 lived up to his billing again this week, with 20+ points. Kelce joins Dalvin Cook as the only player to make the TOTW in back-to-back weeks. No TE holds anywhere near as much value as Kelce.)
D/ST: PHI (14+ points - Despite missing DE Jadeveon Clowney, the Titans rolled over Nick Foles and the Bears. Again, this likely says more about the Bears (lack of) ability than the Titans defensive prowess.)
K: LOL f*** off kickers!
*sorry!
2020 is full of surprises
From Tom Brady leaving the Patriots, to Covid-19, to Adam Gase keeping his coaching job, 2020 has been f******d!
That’s especially true for fantasy football, as consensus-no-doubt-all-world Top 3 RBs Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, and Ezekiel Elliott are all outside the top 10 in fantasy points at their position. But in some positive news: here’s a list of every surprise positive at each position for 2020. You’ll be surprised to see the WR listed.
Welcome back from the depths WRs
Week 10 saw the return of three former All-Pro WRs:
Dez Bryant made his 2020 debut for the Baltimore Ravens: Dez wore a Kobe tribute jersey on the way into the stadium, but there’s not much else to say here. He didn’t see a single target and could return to the practice squad this week. Leave him on waivers.
Michael Thomas returned to the field from issues relating to injuries and nicknames such as “slant-boy”. After speaking to Randy Moss about bouncing back, Thomas posted 5 receptions and 51 yards on 6 targets. With the Saints man-handling the Bucs, Brees didn’t need his WR1 much.
And they really turnt up after the W:
Antonio Brown was quiet in his return to football, catching 3/5 targets for 31 yards against the Saints. Brown played 39-of-50 snaps (78 percent), which is a great sign. For AB, quiet is a good thing. Expect him to continue to see more looks as the season wears on: given the nagging injuries to Godwin and Evans, Brown should be considered a high-upside WR3.
He also threw a football to Chad Ochocinco.
A few videos you don’t want to miss
Back when people looked forward to Patriots-Jets, Randy Moss owned Darrelle Revis. Want to see Kyler Murray DESTROY a human? Click that link. Do it.
How can you describe this route running by Stefon Diggs without using the word beautiful? Deshaun Watson is ELITE, and he threads the needle in this video.
Jerry Jeudy has arrived
In what we are calling his breakout game - the talented rookie WR Jerry Jeudy dropped 7/125/1 on 14 targets. Jeudy’s production appears more than sustainable, as he’s seen 8.4 targets in each game Drew Lock plays, which is 14th in the NFL (over the season). Everyone is expecting big things from the Albama product; buy now if you still can.
He also did this:
BONUS:
Some great news for your Tuesday: Bills Mafia raises $34,000+ to honour Josh Allen’s late grandmother.
Man, Teddy Bridgewater, throw the DAMN BALL to DJ MOORE! He’s wide open, and he’s on my fantasy team.
A WILD story from Matt Cassel about being coached by Todd Haley.
Thank you for reading, get after it today! We’ll see you back here tomorrow for our deep sleeper pickup edition, which previously featured studs (DeeJay Dallas back in Week 7, Dolphins D/ST last week) and duds (Ben DiNucci).
Cheers!
Question of the day: Who is the best route runner in the NFL? Keenan Allen? Calvin Ridley? Jerry Jeudy? Other?
F*** Teddy Bridgewater!
Sincerely, DJ Moore & Robby Anderson Owner
