Good morning - welcome to another edition of the Morning Huddle. Its the weekend, and you’ve got things to do (relaxing; prepping for your drafts; etc) - so I’ll make this quick.
I also had a few drinks with some of my best friends - forgive any spelling errors (blame autocorrect).
Justin Jefferson is considered "day-to-day" after spraining his AC joint in practice
Jefferson went down hard following a diving catch in practice Friday but avoided any significant injury. He’s still on track to start week 1, so relax.
Jimmy G is in his feelings
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said the team is preparing No. 3 overall pick Trey Lance to play "situationally" this year.
Look - they drafted Lance 3rd overall for a reason, but they also paid Jimmy G for a reason. Lance has reportedly outperformed the veteran in camp, attacking the team's defense at every level and should win the starting role soon enough. Draft him where you can.
Lamar Jackson declined the vax
Per rotoworld: “Jackson spent the last two weeks of camp on the team's COVID list since he remains unvaccinated. Although his return allows for a sigh of relief from fantasy managers in the short-term, Jackson's insistence to avoid the vaccine could leave players high and dry if the 24-year-old tests positive in-season”
Josh Allen makes bank
Imagine being Josh Allen right now: Bills signed QB Josh Allen to a six-year, $258 million extension.
The deal, which includes $150 million guaranteed, shakes out to $43 million annually, landing in between Patrick Mahomes' ($45 million per year) and Dak Prescott's ($40 million)
That’s all for today folks, it’s the weekend so go enjoy yourself - but stay focused. Trade for Jaylen Waddle, CMC, and Austin Ekeler wherever you can.
