🏈 Houston, we have a problem
Start or Sh*t? And why Chris Carson hates fantasy footballers - Nov 13
Good Friday morning. Friday the 13th. In 2020. Goodluck.
We’re not going to waste any time in putting your brain to work while you sit on the sh*tter or lay in bed. Through 8 weeks, this QB broke the record for most fantasy points through 8 games all time. Who is it? Scroll down for the answer (unless you already know, in which case, you = nerd).
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy today’s newsletter, which is filled with reddit articles and crazy tweets from the world of fantasy football.
Something different something new
This was my late grandmother’s favourite saying and the inspiration behind a new twist to the Morning Huddle: We want to customize your newsletter, so, to do that, we are asking you to type in the ONE player YOU want a “deep dive” on.
Each week, we’ll write up one deep-dive on a fantasy player, evaluating their injury history, second-half playoff schedule, and anything remotely fantasy-related.
You’re winning every matchup this week
And here are the tools to do it:
If your trade deadline is approaching, here’s the definitive list of players you want to target in deals. See why you want Lamar Jackson on your squad for a title run.
Whether you are in a dynasty league competing for a title or an owner of Saquon Barkley and not competing (like me), this reddit article is for you. It highlights the late additions for a title run and the best targets for rebuilding teams (like George Kittle).
Rotoworld.com writer Patrick Daugherty ranks every player at every position for Week 10. My favourite pick? Chase Edmonds as RB5.
The Wolf of Roto Street drops f-bombs and ranks every player for Week 10. One reason to watch? He’s the 4th highest-ranked FF analyst by Fantasy Pros.
Quick start & sit while you sh*t
Don’t be this guy, everyone hates this guy
A tough-guy fantasy football owner (aren’t we all?) decides to voice his frustrations with Chris Carson missing a few games by sending the below message:
People like that give the fantasy football community a bad name and make the players dislike us even more than they already do. But thankfully, we’ve got Austin Ekeler, who actually cares about your fantasy team.
What the heck is going on with the Texans firing their PR chief?
The Houston Texans were slammed by everyone when they traded DeAndre Hopkins for a high-five during the off-season. Now, they were again slammed by everyone after reportedly firing PR chief Amy Palcic for lack of 'cultural fit'.
As someone who does not understand the inner-workings of the NFL, I had no clue what was going on. I’m assuming you didn’t either. So here’s what happened.
Adam Schefter tweeted this:
Ordinarily, this could be dismissed as a small organizational change not affecting the on-field outcome. However, Palcic was universally beloved and respected by her colleagues, who once again cast the Texans in a terrible light. NFL players and insiders tweeted support:
While any explanation beyond “not a cultural fit” was never given, many speculate it was political-related tweets from Palcic.
These rookies are GOOD - and they will be better?
Jerry Jeudy, Ceedee Lamb, Chase Claypool, Justin Jefferson (to name a few), were all expected to be good players. It’s hard to overstate the impact they’ve had on the NFL this early on in their careers - BUT, per Scott Barrett, we can expect even bigger things in the second half of the NFL season:
And the answer is: Kyler Murray
Remember that question I asked you at the start of the newsletter? Which QB broke the record for most fantasy points through 8 games all time? It’s Kyler, with 240+ fantasy points, surpassing Steve Young’s 1998 season (224.1).
Yet Kyler is still a 79 overall in Madden???

As always, thank you for subscribing and feel free to share the Morning Huddle with owners who have teams out of playoff contention.
For those owners - sorry about your luck. But try subscribing. It is scientifically proven to help.
