🏈 Great news for Bears fans
Checking on the Steelers WRs, Stefon Diggs, and why we're worried about George Kittle.
Good morning. As a Bengals fan, I had to turn last night’s game off at halftime. For my mental health. I still don’t know the final score. But I bet we won. It always happens when I turn the game off. Maybe it’s me. Maybe it’s Zac Taylor.
Why do I do this to myself?
Anyways, let’s dive in:
Great News for Bears Fans
The Chicago Tribune believes Bears OC Bill Lazor is more likely to call plays than coach Matt Nagy for Sunday’s game against the Lions.
Last year, the transition to Lazor led to a more productive Chicago offense. How productive?
Per Scott Barrett:
Chicago Bears (2020-2021)
Matt Nagy Calling Plays: 18.2 PPG (12 games)
Bill Lazor Calling Plays: 27.7 PPG (7 games)
David Montgomery (2020-2021)
Matt Nagy Calling Plays: 12.3 FPG (12 games)
Bill Lazor Calling Plays: 25.7 FPG (6 games)
This is great news for both Allen Robinson and David Montgomery (the only Bears players you can consider starting) as Lazor’s appointment will lead to higher-scoring games.
Bounce Back Candidates
Calvin Ridley and Stefon Diggs were both top 5 WRs all offseason, but they’ve yet to top 20 FPTS in any game this season.
While both are great buy-low candidates. Diggs is seeing better volume, in a better offense, with a better QB:

Steelers WR Injuries
Chase Claypool (hamstring) was a surprise "limited" during Thursday's practice. Should be ok, but we’ll keep an eye on this.
Diontae Johnson (knee) practiced in full on Thurdsay. Great news as Diontae is now expected to play Sunday.
JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs) got in a limited practice on Thursday. While JuJu might play, he shouldn’t be in non-PPR lineups.
James Washington is healthy. I suck at lawn bowling. Who cares about either.
Relatable Tweet of the Day
Quick Slants
Coach Kyle Shanahan has claimed he is not worried about George Kittle's Week 4 status as the superstar tight end deals with "soreness," but Kittle is now questionable. If he sits, Ross Dwelley becomes a deep-league streamer.
Julio Jones and A.J. Brown (both with hamstring injuries) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. Don’t be the guy grabbing the Titans WR3. Just don’t.
Josh Jacobs (ankle) returned to practice on Thursday, making him likely to suit up Monday against the Chargers. Unless Jon Gruden prefers Peyton Barber.
The Super Bowl halftime lineup was announced yesterday:
